Introduction:

Lund Chinese School (LCS) is a local, independent, and non-profit organization managed by parent volunteers. LCS is dedicated to providing high-quality Chinese cultural and language education in a supportive environment for students with a Chinese background. The school uses Simplified Chinese characters, with Pinyin taught as a pronunciation guide.

Currently, LCS has 19 classes with approximately 200 students, ranging in age from 6 to 16. The school year consists of about 35 school days, with classes held on Saturday/Sunday afternoons. The academic year is divided into fall and spring semesters, which align with the public school calendar in Lund. The fall semester runs from September to December, and the spring semester from January to June.

As a non-profit, LCS relies on the active participation of parent volunteers for teaching, administration, classroom maintenance, and after-school activities. The school is a community effort, and its mission is to preserve Chinese culture and traditions by teaching the Chinese language and cultural practices.
